TRIBUTE TO LORD KRISHNA
Sri Krishna is revered in the sacred land of India as the greatest avatar of Vishnu. An avatar is a divine incarnation, i.e. 'God who descends into a human body' and comes to earth to bring to light the glorious divine nature buried in every human being. The lyrics of the music tracks on the CDs are Sanskrit mantras dedicated to Him and when we invoke Krishna's name with intention through the chanting of the mantras, we make the subtle power of sounds resonate in the air, evoking His sacred presence in our lives, a benevolent energy with a calming, purifying and loving effect.
CD number 1, as the title "Prelude to Meditation" implies, is intended to induce yoga meditation; the interpretations of the pieces therefore have soft, less rhythmic tones that naturally lead to that state of calm and inwardness that precedes silent meditation.
CD number 2, entitled "Jai Krishna Jai", on the other hand, is more rhythmic and joyful and is therefore more suited to summoning the energy of mantra and devotional singing to turn the mind to the sublime presence of the Spirit in the guise of Sri Krishna in every activity of daily life.
